“Dang, that boy is ‘purple’”

The short story is that Seth is going on a speaking tour and the ticket company he chose to work with this time charged what Seth felt was an excessive amount. Seth took matters into his own hands and refunded the money to folks.

What is interesting to me is how consistently “purple” Seth is in everything that he does. From the skin out, the note above is “purple”. Who mails letters in plastic bags? Who uses stamps anymore? For that matter, who mails? Yet here comes Seth with an apology for the over charge, a check for the amount charged (that he’s covering personally) and packaging that is unique. In a world where a lot of people talk about their marketing ideas, Seth lives his everyday. That, by itself, is quite “purple”.

Hi Ted,

Thanks for sharing this example from Seth.

I find that while there are a lot of creative ideas for WOMM, resources to execute them can become an issue. In Seth’s case, how the hell does he find the time to lick stamps and write checks?

Of course, the simplest ideas are those that work best. And maybe, just maybe purposefully throwing a wrench in the system so that you can correct it with some creative WOM is the simplest (and slickest) WOMM of all. I’m not suggesting that Seth would actually take such an approach, but I am always waiting for “the next big thing” in WOM, and I’m sure we’ll see it happen soon.

Love the blog!

What a way to start a blog! Congrats.

Yes, Seth is the real deal. A lot of folks talk about marketing and would even purport to teach you abou it so you can get rich beyond your wildest dreams. But they don’t live it.

Fizz looks remarkable and quite purple too! Cheers.
